Peter, Bjorn and John
Author: Gary

Peter Bjorn and John made quite a splash with their single Young Folks from their album Writer’s Block. Now they are back with a new album of indie pop that’s a really good and could produce a number of hits.
GimmeSome’s getting some good reviews especially with Living Thing, their 2009 release, giving people who were expecting another Writer’s Block a big surprise because of it’s completely different music direction. GimmeSome has a number of really good songs in it. It may not have a song that is as catchy as Young Folks but it also shows the band presenting a more mature sound.

The Rakes.
Author: editor
If you’re fond of indie music, then The Rakes should be on your list. Since its formation in 2004, The Rakes has been true to its name—they’ve been raking awards and brushing others aside in the UK top charts. Since today’s generation prefer indie bands over those who already have labels to support them, The Rakes never had troubles acquiring a spot in every rocker’s heart (and the non-rockers too).
The Rakes’ songs are mostly about the working life, routine events that seem to be ignored already by the many, and surrealism (or some argue that it’s actually escapism). Three of their singles have been included in the UK Album Chart and most of the indie rock genre listeners predict that they’ll continue to storm UK top charts come their next album.

The Number Twelve Looks Like You.
Author: editor
The Number Twelve Looks Like You. What? No. It doesn’t mean anything, really. It’s the name of the band hailing from New Jersey. They’re not your typical punk rock kiddos found in garage concerts. First, they’re old enough to be considered kiddos and second, they’re music is not punk rock—it’s mathcore. Mathcore, or grindcore for some, is a new kind of hardcore music. The Number Twelve Looks Like You incorporated technical metalcore, techno hardcore and progressive metalrock in their music to create mixes of different genres that jive. The name of the band was taken from an episode of the most popular thriller series of all times, The Twilight Zone.

Boyce Avenue Definitely has the Voice
Author: editor

Boyce Avenue hails from Florida, which is popular for acoustic and melodic rock sound bands. The group is composed of the Manzano brothers, namely Alejandro (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Fabian (guitar, vocals), and Daniel (bass, percussion, vocals). Due to Boyce Avenue’s success in the United States and the Philippines, the band recently held a series of shows in different malls in the Philippines last February 12-15, 2009. The band drew many fans from the Philippines (and around the world) through the popular internet video site YouTube.
Boyce Avenue is famous for doing covers of many famous songs, like With You (Chris Brown), Disturbia, Hate That I Love You, and Umbrella (Rihanna), Bleeding Love (Leona Lewis), and No Air (Jordin Sparks ft. Chris Brown).
Boyce Avenue will certainly go a long way with their talent in songwriting and performing as proven by their hits and huge following.
White Lies – Music from the Crypt
Author: Gary
There are a lot of shining talents who enter the music scene from humble beginnings with most coming from small time and even evangelic backgrounds. The new British band White lies however comes from a totally opposite region of Arcade Fire and Coldplay bringing music of the deathly type. They have managed to catch the attention of rockers in England but the threesome group admits thought they love their art, it is very draining on the soul, for real. The three members, Harry McVeigh on vocals, bassist and lyricist Charles cave and drummer Jack Lawrence-Brown all agree on the utter soul draining direction of their music.
Thought their music may be dark themed, they are other than dark for they help break the ice from their grim songs with humor on and off stage. This keeps us in touch with reality as it is and keeps our minds off the music which can get into your skin most of the times. The group is one of Britain’s rising metal bands who are catching attention from critics, just hope they were a bit more wholesome like the rest of the band.
Saving Abel

Weeks and Jason Null are the pioneers of the band Saving Abel. They formed the group in their hometown of Corinth, Mississippi last 2004. They crossed paths one day in a best friend’s house and everything grew from there. They immediately went on to write songs together. Apparently, Skidd Mills heard the groups songs and then invited them to his studios. It was the song ’18 Days’ that really got his attention. He believed that this group would fare well in the music scene. Added to the group were Scott Bartlett, guitarist. Eric Taylor, bass player and Blake Dixon on drums. The name came to be when Null came across a line in the story of Cain and Abel that read… there was no saving Abel.
